MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The much needed rain left slippery streets in the Mid-South. Those slick streets caused havoc for some drivers Monday night.

Multiple crashes caused severe injuries and closed streets and highways. Two of those crashes involved semi-trucks.

A person is in critical condition after a vehicle smashed into the back of a semi-truck, according to Memphis Police Department.

The crash happened on Interstate 40 near Danny Thomas Boulevard.

The eastbound lanes in the area were closed for approximately an hour.

Just shortly after that crash, another crash involving a semi-truck happened at 385 and Mt. Moriah Road. One car actually ran underneath the semi-truck.

The driver of the car was taken to Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition.
