MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Charges are pending against a man involved in a standoff with Millington police Monday.

Dustin Russell is accused of stealing a trailer out of Bartlett.

According to a police report, a man said his trailer was stolen from his driveway on November 4. When he tried to follow the suspects, one of them pulled out a shotgun and opened fire at him.

Shelby County Sheriff's Office deputies tried to pull over a car near Interstate 240 and Getwell Road on Monday, but the driver refused to stop. Deputies said someone inside the car threw a t-shirt and a shotgun out of the window.

After a 45 minute chase, deputies said the suspects, Russell and Joanne Howard, ran out of gas near the intersection of Kerrville-Rosemark Road and Miller Road in Millington. They then barricaded themselves inside the car.

Nobody was injured. After about an hour, both suspects surrendered.

Russell has been connected to the trailer theft in Bartlett. At this time, it's unclear if Howard was involved in the theft.
