MARSHALL CO., MS (WMC) -

A farmer found a body on Wilburn Road near the Marshall County and Benton County line, according to Marshall County Sheriff's Department.

Family members identified the body as Deaundra McNeal.

Investigators said McNeal had been shot multiple times.

Stanley Hurdle was one of the first people to discover McNeal's body. As Hurdle and a fellow farmer were moving a tractor they noticed something in
this ditch.

"You hate to see anyone get killed like this, murdered," said Hurdle.

That is when the farmers realized what they saw in the ditch was a body.

"You could tell by looking at him that he was dead, that there was no life left in him," said Hurdle.

Marshall County Deputies spent Thursday morning investigating near the Marshall and Benton County line.

McNeal’s father said he was the father to a 6-month-old child and lived not far from where his body was found. He also shared that he had no idea why someone would kill his only son.

No arrests have been made and investigators have yet to release any suspect information.

McNeal lived in Benton County, but his body was found in Marshall County. Deputies are still investigating. If you have any information you are urged to call the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
