A Better Mid-South: Room in the Inn-Memphis at the Cottage

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Vice President and General Manager of WMC Action News 5:

It's always a good time to count your blessings and think about the people in our community who need a helping hand.

There's some work going on in our community that provides that helping hand called Room in the Inn-Memphis at the Cottage.

Five churches, Germantown United Methodist Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, St. George's Episcopal Church, Farmington Presbyterian Church and Incarnation Catholic Church make up Room in the Inn at the Cottage.

Between November and March, these five congregations provide shelter, hot meals, hospitality, and friendship to more than 1,000 guests who are in need of a warm place to lay their head and eat a hot meal.

The organizers want to encourage you to join them or put together the same type of program at your church or faith organization.

I have linked some information about Room in the Inn at the Cottage on my Facebook page, A Better Mid-South for you to check out, or email me at abettermidsouth@wmctv.com and I'll send you the information.
