MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Editorial Tracey Rogers, Vice President and General Manager of WMC Action News 5:
As you know, 2016 marks the highest number of homicides on record in Memphis.
This is a devastating milestone for our city and while I know we're upset about the numbers and we're upset about the stigma attached to the numbers, I implore you to remember that behind every single number -- there was a person.
A living, breathing person who was important to their family and their friends.
Like 21-year-old Donovan Mills who was shot and killed just days ago. Friends say he was planning to go to law school.
I would like to hear from you about our homicide rate. What can we do to remember each victim and better yet, what can we do to help stop this deadly trend?
