KANSAS CITY, MO (WMC) -

"Newborn babies are some of life's greatest gifts."

That's why three Kansas City photographers teamed up with March of Dimes to provide special gifts for families whose babies remain in Saint Luke's Hospital NICU this holiday season.

Santa was there as the photographers, all of whom are moms of former NICU babies, dressed the little ones up as presents to get them ready for a special photo shoot. The photographs are now melting hearts across the country.

"Providing these special families with an opportunity to celebrate the holidays in a memorable way allows them a sense of normalcy, and an opportunity to celebrate their babies’ first milestones – even in the hospital – which is what every family wants to do."

Each of the families whose babies were involved in the photo shoot received a "Twas the Night Before Christmas" card with their baby's footprint, a book they can read together, a hand-crocheted Santa bag filled with candy, and a hand-crocheted Santa hat or girl's cap with a bow.
