MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - After several days with seasonable temperatures, we will end January on a high note. Temperatures will bump into the 60s this week before sliding back down below average at the end of the week.
A high pressure system will take over our weather pattern and allow for sunny skies and southwest flow to bring in much warmer air. Highs will go from the upper 50s on Monday to the 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday. A few weather models have been trying to take highs near 70 these days.
The warm spurt of air is nothing new this winter with highs in the 70s earlier this month. We likely won't break any record highs, but we will certainly be feeling warmer than normal at the start of the week.
Get the allergy medicine and tissues ready because temperatures will make a 10 to 15 degree temperature swing by Thursday. Highs will be in the 40s and lows will be in the 30s Thursday through Saturday. A few showers are possible, but any chance for winter precipitation is very low.
