GERMANTOWN, TN (WMC) -

Germantown Police Department is investigating some costly incidents of vandalism.

A Germantown homeowner said vandals damaged his home months ago. They threw lawn furniture, statues, and decor into his pool. The cracked plaster cost him and his insurance company about $11,000.

The homeowner thought it was a one-time crime, but Friday, the vandals struck again. This time, they were caught on camera.

The homeowner's surveillance cameras filmed five young men breaking into his backyard. The homeowner thinks the five men caught on camera are the same ones that cost him $11,000 several months ago.

The vandals were also scared off this time, because the homeowner had his alarm system on. It went off, and the vandals scattered.

He said the scare most likely prevented them from vandalizing his home again.

Now he just wants them to face consequences.

"I would prefer a judge look at this and say they need to be held accountable," he said.

Officers said they are investigating and trying to determine the connection between the two break-ins.
