Locals Come Close at the Gossett AJGA Finals

Final Round action in the David Gossett American Junior Golf Association Championships at the T.P.C. at Southwind.

In the Boys Division, Memphis' own Bobby Hundson with a chance to claim the title...

He shoots a final round 74 Thursday...

That's just 2-over par on the course the pros play..

But no one could catch Patrick Reed of Baton Rouge, Louisiana..

Reed roared from behind with a final round 72 to claim the championship.

His 3-round total of 222 is 3 over par.

West Memphis' Jordan Payne tied Hudson for 3rd at plus-4 for the tournament.

On the Girls side, Bartletts' Kellye Belcher grabbed a one stroke lead after 2-rounds over some of the best competition in the country..

But she couldn't sustain it after shooting an 80 in the final round.

That opens the door for Tulsa, Oklahoma's Sarah Dodson to swoop in and claim the crown.

Dodson a 76 Thursday..

She wins the tournament at 7-over par, 3-strokes ahead of Belcher.
