The Bear has awaken from its trade hibernation.
The Memphis Grizzlies have a 3-team deal with Sacramento and Utah that sends disgruntled Guard Bonzi Wells to the Kings for Bobby Jackson..
The Trade can't be finalized until the NBA gets its new Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Players Union signed...possibly by Thursday.
The Grizzlies held an $8-Million Dollar team option on Wells and agreed to a sign and trade with the Kings to get Jackson..
Wells was injured part of last season and became a team distraction complaining of lack of playing time in a contract year.
In Jackson, the Grizzlies get an 8-year veteran who's potent both offensively AND defensively.
Jacksons' solid all-around play earned him more late game minutes than former Kings teammate Jason Williams, who's now the Grizzlies starter at point.
Jacksons' in the final year of a $3.3-million dollar deal.
To complete the Trade...the Grizzlies get 7-footer Curtis Borchardt from Utah, along with 6'6" Swingman Kirk Snyder..for Greg Oostertag, who's also part of the Bobby Jackson Sacramento Trade.
Both Borchardt and Snyder are still under their rookie contracts.
The Grizzlies say they can't comment on the trade due to a League Moratorium.
Kings GM Geoff Petrie says there is a trade he intends to make with Memphis and Utah when the Moratorium is over.
