MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A student at Havenview Middle School reported a problem with an Uber driver Wednesday morning.

Shelby County Schools confirmed school staff members contacted Memphis Police Department as soon as they learned of the incident.

The incident reportedly happened as the student was riding an Uber to school.

It's still unclear what may have happened with the Uber driver, and the student's identity was not released.

One parent who was inside the school on Wednesday said officers blocked the front office all morning and into the afternoon as investigators questioned the student about the incident.

Stephanie Jordan, the mother of a 7th grader at the school, questioned why the child who reported the incident was with an Uber driver and possibly alone in the first place.

“Whatever parent that did that, I would hold them accountable as well,” Jordan said. “Because I understand we have to work, we have to do things in order to take care of our family, but at least see about the bus route.”
