NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A security guard working next door opened fire on two suspects fleeing from the Cartronics automobile electronics store in Madison on Thursday morning.

The security guard told police he was working at Wholesale Inc on Gallatin Pike when he heard an alarm go off next door at Cartronics. He said he saw two men, one in a gray hoodie and the other wearing a black hoodie, loading electronics into a white cargo van.

When the guard made contact with the suspects, the men got in the van and began backing up at a high rate of speed toward the guard. The guard told police he opened fire and believed he hit the van.

Police confirmed there were casings on the ground from the guard’s gun and the Cartronics had been burglarized. It is not known how much merchandise the thieves took.
