The mayor of Columbus, Ohio is among the anxious parents who've been waiting for word on the identities of 14 Marines killed in an attack yesterday in Iraq.
Mayor Michael Coleman's son is a member of the company that suffered most of the casualties. He hasn't heard anything -- which may be cause for relief. The Marines say all of the families have now been notified.
The 14 Marines were killed in a bombing near Haditha, which is about 70 miles northwest of Ramadi. The roadside bombing was the deadliest for American forces in the Iraq war.
Scattered attacks today killed at least nine Iraqi soldiers or police.
