Carjacking suspect arrested and charged

Today, Corinio Pruitt is in jail, charged with the deadly carjacking of a 79-year old man.

Investigators say they were following up leads on Pruitt, when they arrested him at a phone booth at Bellevue and South Parkway yesterday.

Police charged Pruitt with first-degree murder.

He's accused of brutally beating Lawrence Guidroz during a carjacking on Tuesday.

It happened outside the neighborhood grocery store.

Action News Five aired surveillance video of Pruitt before the carjacking happened.

Soon people were calling police to say it was Pruitt.

Police say he has a long criminal record that includes aggravated assault.
