Carjacking suspect in court Monday

A Memphis man accused in a deadly carjacking faced a judge Monday.

Corinio Pruitt appeared in a Memphis criminal courtroom to face first degree murder charges.

His case was reset and he remains in custody.

Pruitt is accused of brutally beating 79-year old Lawrence Guidroz during a carjacking on Tuesday.

Investigators say they were following up leads on Pruitt when they arrested him at a phone booth at Bellevue and South Parkway last week.
