Redbirds Reyes Rookie Debut a Success for St. Louis

Another Memphis Redbird makes the move up to the Parent St. Louis Cardinals...

Spotlight Tuesday Night on Pitcher Anthony Reyes.

The 23-year old Right Hander making his major League Debut on the mound against the Milwuakee Brewers.

Reyes is the first Cards Rookie pitcher to open with a starting assignment since another former Redbird, Dan Haren debut in June of 2003.

Reyes is the Cardinals number-1 pitching prospect and the first from the teams' 2003 draft to make it to the big time...Reyes didn't do everything right, he gives up this home run in the 2nd, a two run shot to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead...but he does enough good things, like striking out 5 in 6-innings, to get the job done..

Another former Redbird, John Rodriguez with the RBI-single in the 6th, scoring Albert Pujols to give the Cards the Lead..

St Louis goes on to win it...

The final: 5-2
