Life Church announces relief efforts

With hundreds of thousands of people displaced in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, The Life Church of Memphis is providing relief to those suffering from the storm. The primary focus is joining with Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, LA, a 4000 member church transforming itself into a relief center to receive and distribute items and services to the people affected by the destruction.
In alliance with national ministries and organizations across the nation, The Life Church is encouraging Memphians to join together to help meet the needs of the millions of people whose lives have been devastated by this destructive storm. The Life Church is also joining with Anointed Temple of Praise and The Promise Church of Jackson, TN coordinating relief efforts in the Memphis area for those who have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. A large tractor trailer is being filled with supplies to be taken to Baton Rouge this Sunday. Supplies may be dropped off from 8a – 8p Thursday and Friday, 12p – 6p Saturday and until 12p on Sunday morning. The Life Church is also serving lunch on Sundays at 12:30 for refugees in the area.

Those who wish to donate money to the relief efforts may do so at Donations may also be mailed or dropped of at The Life Church of Memphis marked "Hurricane Relief."

The following list of items will be accepted to help meet the needs of those who are without homes and income for weeks, possibly even months.

Non-perishable food items
