MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Memphis Tigers basketball players are putting their best feet forward for their new head coach Penny Hardaway.
While the players are working as camp counselors at Penny's Kids Camps this summer, they're also going through individual workouts with the U of M's new coaching staff.
The players say showcasing their skills for a former Tiger legend is quite the experience.
"They know the game better than what it is. So I feel like we get better in everything," senior forward Kevon Davenport said.
"Since our Coaches have been players before, it's like they say don't look at it like it's a coach to Player, it's a player to player," senior guard Kareem Brewton added. "And we talk to them like we would everybody else, except with respect and everything."
Tigers returning leading scorer Jeremiah Martin is finally out of walking boot. He says he'll soon star full workouts with the rest of the team.
The former Mitchell High star suffered a Lysz-Frank Injury in his broken foot, which required surgery and 4 months in a protective boot.
