MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The City of Germantown has numerous family friendly activities and events planned for this year's 4th of July celebration, including fishing, fireworks, and more!
Activities will begin at Municipal Park Lake from 9 to 11 a.m., where the annual Fishing Rodeo will take place. The rodeo is led by the Germantown Lions Club and Germantown Parks and Recreation. You are invited to bring a rod, tackle and bait and join in on the fishing fun. Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will benefit the Germantown Lions Club.
Starting at 5:00 p.m., the City will be featuring live entertainment, moon bounces, games, crafts, and refreshments. The evening will end with an exciting fireworks show beginning at 9:10 p.m. Evening events will be located at Municipal Park, 1900 S. Germantown Road.
Due to the Fourth of July activities at Municipal Park, several roads will be closed on the 4th. Exeter Road, from Farmington Boulevard to Neshoba Road, will close at 2 p.m.; Farmington Boulevard, from Germantown Road to Exeter Road, will close at 5 p.m.; Neshoba Road, between Germantown Road and Boulinwood Lane, will close at 5 p.m. for vehicle traffic and 8:30 p.m. to pedestrian traffic.
