Man sentenced to 15 years after drugs smuggled through Memphis in M&M's bags

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Gabriel Rounds, 36, from Las Vegas, Nevada, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in distributing 100,000 oxycodone pills in the Memphis area and laundering money, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

In May 2013, Las Vegas Postal Inspectors began an investigation into mailings of illegal narcotics destined for the Memphis area.

On May 2, 2016,  investigators searched through the mail and found 456 oxycodone pills being concealed inside M&M's candy bags.

On June 15, 2018, U.S. District Judge Sheryl H. Lipman sentenced Rounds to 188 months imprisonment, to be followed by six years of supervised release.
