Oxford family loses home, belongings to house fire

OXFORD, MS (WMC) - The Oxford community is stepping up to help a family who lost their home and belongings in a fire.

The Oxford School District posted on Facebook that Maintenance Specialist Earl Shaw's home caught on fire Tuesday. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the Oxford Eagle newspaper.

The district is asking for donations of immediate needs like clothing and shoes for him, his wife, and their three children.

  • Boys Clothing: Medium and Large, 2X Shirts, Pants sizes 36x34 and 33x32
  • Boys Shoes: Size 10.5 - 11 and 9
  • Girls Clothing: Medium, Large Shirts, Pants size 10, 12-14
  • Girls Shoes: Size 7.5

Anyone can drop off donations at the OSD Central Office at 224 Bramlett Blvd. during business hours from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

A GoFundMe account has also been set up to help the family.
