BLYTHEVILLE, AR (WMC) - Blytheville, Arkansas, is working to deter crime from above.
The city received its first SkyCop on Monday after creating plans in 2017 to bring SkyCops to the city.
"It's going to be used all over town and you'll see it in a lot of places," Blytheville Assistant Chief Ricky Jefferson said. "This is the mobile unit, the most expensive one in the package deal, so we got it first and in the future, we'll get the pole cams put up."
The cost of the mobile unit is about $50,000, and it came from the safety tax that citizens passed last year.
