Downtown Memphis building consumed in blaze

A 105-year-old, downtown Memphis building that's been home to many pubs where several prominent bands got their start was consumed in an early morning fire Sunday.
The Blue Monkey bar and restaurant, the building's latest inhabitant, had only one wall remaining after firefighters put out the blaze authorities believe was started around 6:30 this morning.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
Erected in 1900, the building has been home to many pubs - the most well-known being the South End where a number of prominent Memphis bands got their start.
The Blue Monkey opened in 2003.
