Teens accused in string of robberies

Andre Meriweather's home has been robbed twice in one month.

"The second time they came they broke in the back window and that's when they took the laptop computer and the DVD's," said Meriweather.

He's one of at least five victims whose home in Hickory Hill was burglarized in the past few weeks. Police say the suspects live in his neighborhood. But the bigger shock is how young they are. Police have arrested and charged five people. Four of them are juveniles between the ages of 12 and 16 and they are suspected in a string of robberies in the same neighborhood. 20 year old Pia Ervin was also arrested for hiding and disguising some of the goods. The arrests began after Yolanda Topps was burglarized and caught two young men jumping her fence.

"I drove up and I said what are you doing in my yard," said Topps.

When police arrived Topps showed the police the home where they lived. Police say the thieves stashed stolen goods at four different houses. Now, victims want things to get back to normal in their normally quiet neighborhood. And they hope the punishment will fit the crime.
