OLIVE BRANCH, MS (WMC) - Two men, who are now behind bars, spent months manipulating a 14-year-old Olive Branch boy, the teen's father says.
Juan E. Andrade, 30, and Jason St. Aubin, 29, face kidnapping charges. Investigators said the suspects will be extradited to Olive Branch in the coming days.
"I saw these two men's mugshots, and I've seen the devil," John Peal said.
Peal's 14-year-old son left his Mississippi home August 1. Peal said his son sneaked out of the house and got into a car with Andrade and Aubin. The teen said he thought he was going to stop the men from committing suicide.
For four days, the teen survived by eating hot dogs and frozen pizza.
"These people are predators," Peal said. "They lured my son out with the false belief that he was saving their life from suicide."
The two suspects used a messaging app called Discord to communicate with the 14-year-old and convince him that they needed his help.
"These two men used technology that was beyond what I even knew was out there to convince my son to leave," Peal said.
The teen's family said they believe media attention surrounding the boy's disappearance spooked the kidnappers. A few days after taking the boy, they dropped him off at a fire station in Illinois.
