Hernando Hills Elementary School is taking precautions with its water after a boil water alert was issued in the city.
Wednesday night, city officials issued the notice for homes east of Della and Thousand Oaks after a water line broke.
As a result, the school cut all water fountains before students arrived Thursday morning.
Hernando Kroger donated 1,700 water bottles to the school for students to drink throughout the day.
Restrooms are still in use, but students will be asked to use hand sanitizer instead of water from the sinks.
School officials said lunches are not impacted.
