OLIVE BRANCH, MS (WMC) - The men accused of kidnapping an Olive Branch boy they met online are back in the Mid-South.
Nine days after police said two Illinois men drove hundreds of miles to pick up a 14-year-old boy in Mississippi, they're back in the Magnolia State – but this time, they're behind bars.
Juan Andrade, 30, and Jason St. Aubin, 29, made their first appearance before a judge for kidnapping charges at the Olive Branch Municipal court.
Andrade and St. Aubin had nothing to say to WMC5 cameras after a judge set their bonds at $600,000 each.
Both were transported together to the DeSoto County Jail, where they were processed and had new mugshots taken.
Investigators say the two men picked up the Olive Branch teen August 1 and took him nearly 250 miles to Creal Springs, Illinois.
The teen told his parents he thought he was going to stop the men from committing suicide.
The abducted teen's father says the two suspects were using the messaging app "Discord" to communicate with the teen. The app is popular in the gaming community.
Investigators say after a few days, they voluntarily dropped off the teen at a fire station.
Andrade and St. Aubin's next court appearance will be Monday, August 14.
