Shelby County ready for flu season

The Memphis and Shelby County Health Department, along with the C.D.C, say they're ready for the upcoming flu season. Last year the nation's vaccine supply was cut in half when Britain shut down a leading supplier of the vaccine. This year experts are confident there will be enough flu shots to go around. Shelby County will begin administering vaccines to high-risk patients. Shots will be given at the Immunization Clinic on Jefferson from 8am to3:30pm Monday through Friday. You can also get vaccinated at the Shelby Crossing Clinic located at 6170 Macon from 8am to 3:30pm. The Southland Mall clinic at Shelby Drive and Highway 51 will be giving flu shots from 9am until 4pm Monday through Friday. The shots are free for seniors with Medicare. $17 for all others.
