Daughter accused of mother's stabbing death

In June, an 18-year-old girl called police to say she came home and found her mother stabbed to death. Now, police say she was the one behind the stabbing.

Eighteen-year-old Nora Jackson was indicted on first degree murder charges by a Shelby County grand jury on Tuesday. She was arrested at a friend's house Thursday.

On June 5th, she called 9-1-1 and reported that she had come home at 5am and found her mother, Jennifer Jackson, stabbed to death.

For months, police say, nervous neighbors called police for updates. Tonight, police say the murderer was living in the house all along. They called it a domestic incident and said it took four months to bring charges because they had to process all the evidence.

"The investigation as it went on... and our investigators, our crime scene investigations took over a hundred pieces of evidence out of that home and out investigation just led us in this direction and a case was built," said Lt. Joe Scott of the Memphis Police.

Nora Jackson, arrested tonight, is being held at the Shelby County Jail East without bond. If she's convicted she faces life in prison with or without the possibility of parole.

Police say they are not looking for other suspects.
