Reduced bail denied in armed robbery case

HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) - A judge has refused to reduce the bond of three suspects accused of taking part in a series of home invasions in Horn Lake this summer.

DeSoto County Circuit Judge Bobby Chamberlin yesterday denied the motion of a defense attorney to reduce the bond for Jessie Montrell Oliver, Travis Santell Oliver and Arrica Tawanda Jefferson.

Jessie Oliver and Jefferson are being held on bond of one (m) million dollars each. Travis Oliver is under a one-point one (m) million dollar bond.

The three were arrested on August 29th. They have been charged in connection with home invasions and armed robberies on in June and July. In one of the robberies a victim was shot in the leg and recovered from the wound.

Prosecutors opposed the reduction in bond.

Assistant District Attorney Rhonda Amis says the case should be presented to a grand jury in November.
