Students involved in Oakhaven fight appear in juvenile court

Two teenage girls appeared in juvenile court Wednesday afternoon after a Tuesday fight at Oakhaven High School sent one student to the hospital.

Prosecutors charged 17 year-old Johnnie Bolton and 16 year-old Arlandrea Logan with aggravated assault. Evidence shows that Logan was jumped, and was charged because once she was attacked, she fought back.

It was not the first time Bolton and Logan crossed paths. A Memphis police report says Bolton and another Oakhaven student jumped Logan with a bag of tools last week.

Officials close to the investigation of Tuesday's incident said it stemmed from an apparent altercation at the Mid-South fair.

Tuesday morning Memphis City Schools Superintendent Dr. Carol Johnson toured Oakhaven High with Memphis City School's chief of security. They maintain the school is secure.
