Jimmy O'Connor is a White Sox fan in Cardinal country, but he says his love for the Southside Hitmen is his birthright.
If you ask Jimmy O'Connor, it's Soxtober.
"It's been since 1959 since they've been to the World Series," said O'Connor. "But it's been since 1917 since they've won the World Series."
But the owner of Jimmy's Chicago Style Hot Dogs has good reason to wear White Sox, even on his pizza.
"The last time they won the World Series, my dad's cousin Ray Shalk was catcher then," he said.
His second cousin played with the likes of Shoeless Joe Jackson and Babe Ruth. So it's only fitting Jimmy's Bartlett restaurant is a shrine to his home team. And his taste of Chicago lures others like him.
"I'm a dyed-in-the-wool White Sox fan," said customer Greg Skinner. "I've been a White Sox fan 50-years and this is only the second time in my lifetime they've been to the World Series."
And when the World Series kicks off Saturday, Jimmy has big plans.
"We're gonna have all hotdogs for 88 cents and that's for the 88 years it took to get there," he said.
Jimmy predicts the Sox will win it in five and he says everyone's invited Saturday night.
The first ball leaves the pitcher's mound at 6:30.
