Search for missing helicopter resumes

Ground and air crews continued their search Tuesday for a helicopter that vanished while en route from Marion to Cleveland, Miss.

Thomas Martin, a criminal investigator with the Crittenden County sheriff's department, said air crews flew various courses that Lee Catt, 44, of Marion could have taken on his way to Mississippi.

"They drew a triangle and charted paths that he might have taken, and that area has been searched to no avail," Martin said Monday.

Between 12 and 15 searchers also conducted a ground search in the Bear Creek area near Marianna, Martin said. The Bear Creek area was chosen because the air searchers could not get a close look. No signal from an emergency beacon has been detected.

Catt was piloting a Bell Jet Ranger described as blue, white and gold, with tail number N331TA. The aircraft left a private heliport at Marion, directly north of West Memphis, at 7:45 a.m. Saturday.
