Motions hearing set for murder trial

A judge in Jackson has set a motions hearing as murder suspect David Lynn Jordan's case moves toward trial, now scheduled for May 16th

Jordan is accused of killing his estranged wife and two other people at the state Transportation Department garage in Jackson last January. Two others were wounded.

Jordan has pleaded innocent to a ten-count indictment. Prosecutor Jerry Woodall says the state will seek the death penalty.

At a status hearing yesterday, General Sessions Court Judge Roy Morgan Junior set a hearing for February 13th to hear pre-trial motions, which must be filed a month earlier. March 6th had already been set as a plea deadline date.
