Trial of former state senator rescheduled in Memphis

A federal judge in Memphis rescheduled a trial Wednesday morning in which former state Senator Roscoe Dixon is accused of public corruption.

Judge Jon McCalla reset the opening of trial from next month to January 17th.

Defense attorney Walter Bailey requested the change in date because he's arguing an unrelated case in state court next month.

Dixon is one of seven current or former elected officials charged with taking bribes from a company to obtain favorable legislation. The company, E-Cycle, was an F-B-I front.

Two other people have also been charged.

McCalla said today he expects Dixon's trial to last two to three weeks.
