Memphis police nab suspect in Mississippi slaying

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (AP) - Olive Branch police say a suspect has been arrested in the November 29th shooting death of a 24-year-old Memphis man.

The suspect was arrested yesterday. Police haven't released the name of the suspect.

Ernest Rashoud Davis was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Davis was slumped under the steering wheel of a late model royal blue Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The autopsy showed he had been killed by a gunshot wound to the head.

The car was parked in a stall of a car wash near the intersection of State Line Road and Old U-S Highway 78 in Olive Branch. The car was registered to a woman living in Chicago, but police say the car hadn't been stolen.

Officers recovered a shell casing at the scene of the shooting death, but police would not comment on whether the casing was tied directly to the murder.
