Liberty Bowl honors Founder Bud Dudley

46-years ago Monday, December 19th, the First Liberty Bowl game was played in Philadelphia.

40-years ago Monday, the Liberty Bowl game was played here in Memphis for the First Time.

Now Monday, Bowl officials honor the games' founder, A.F. "Bud" Dudley, by naming the Stadiums' Press Box for him.

The Stadium has undergone many changes since that first game in 19-65, and the Bowl landscape has change dramatically...but Dudley says coming to Memphis was the right thing to do.

Officials also announced Dudley will receive the Liberty Bowls' Distinguished Citizen Award at the Pre-Game Banquet Dec. 30th.

Tulsa plays Fresno State in the Liberty Bowl game New Years' Eve.
