Allegations of more dead voters leveled

Friday new allegations of voter fraud were leveled after a controversial election to replace Tennessee state senator John Ford.

Records indicate dozens of people may have cast votes in Shelby County elections over the past 10 years after they were dead.

John Harvey has unearthed the records. He claims to have found records that show 73 Shelby County residents voted after they died between 1994 and 2005.

"It seems the more we dig, the more we find," he said.

But Election Commission Chairman Greg Duckett told Action News 5 Friday that Harvey's information is often unreliable.

"I don't know what he's talking about," Duckett said. "All of the data analysis I've done has been on their data."

Action News 5 was unable to double check those records Friday because the election commission was closed for the holidays.

John Harvey is a candidate for sherrif, and helped do research for the Terry Rowland campaign.
