Wilder expects special session to last about a month

UNION CITY, Tenn. (AP) - Lieutenant Governor John Wilder says he expects the Legislature's special session on ethics to last about a month.

The Democratic Senator from Mason told the Union City Daily Messenger that he feels a special session is unnecessary.

He feels everything could have been taken care of in the routine business of the General Assembly.

Governor Bredesen has called the Legislature into special session January 10th to act on an ethics bill drawn up by a special committee.

The 11:00am session is one hour before the regular session is to convene.

Wilder says he expects the session to cost around $100,000.
