Friday night's win over Portland was a costly one for the Memphis Grizzlies. What was was supposed to be a homecoming for guard Damon Stoudamire turned into a nightmare. The Grizzlies starting point guard was driving the lane in the 2nd quarter last night when he slipped on a wet spot on the floor and went down in a heap. The result is a torn patellar tendon in his right knee, most likely a season ending injury that will require surgery.
After playing 7 years in Portland he signed a 4 year free agent deal with the Grizzlies in the off season. Memphis held on for a 93-90 win and will wrap up their road trip tonight in Seattle.
