Memphis City Schools Partners with WMC-TV5 to Promote Literacy

Memphis City Schools' campaign to increase literacy is underway. MCS Reads encourages students, teachers, parents and anyone else interested to read at least two-books a month. The goal is to read at least 25 books within a year. MCS Superintendent Dr. Carol Johnson believes literacy is key in academic achievement.

You can be a part of MCS Reads. Each month Action News 5's Ursula Madden will read and review three books.

TV-5 will also feature three Memphis City Schools students each month and post their book reports on our website.

For more information on "MCS Reads" or to find out how you can get involved log onto the district's website, http://www.mcsk12.net.
