Overnight carjacking in a suburban neighborhood

A violent carjacking turned to gunfire overnight in a quiet suburban neighborhood. It happened at the corner of Hack's Cross and Lowrance.

Around 10 o'clock last night a couple got in to a fight at this BP station. The woman kicked the man out of her car so he jumped in the first car he saw and took off.

The owner of the car, a man who was also a security guard, tried to stop the suspect before he took off by firing several bullets at the car. He says he can't believe this would happen in his neighborhood. "This is the first ever I heard since I've been here..this is the first incident like this..and I've been living here going on 5 years now", said Joseph Hudson.

This morning police are still looking for the suspect and the car. Here's a description of the vehicle. It's a 95 silver Dodge Stratus with New Jersey tags. It may have bullet holes in the door.

If you see the car or have any information that might help police please call crimestoppers at 528-CASH.
