Receiving the international Sports Legacy award was Mannie Jackson, the owner of the Harlem Globetrotters for the last 13 years.
" Young people today only listen to what you tell them is significant, that things like this are important. "
"We used to have to sleep two in a bed because we couldn't stay at the regular hotels but Dr. King gave us a glimmer of hope," said Tex Harrison who played for the Globetrotters for 18 years.
The halftime show included a special musical tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the jumbotron. The only thing missing from an otherwise perfect night, a Grizzlies win. The Spurs beat them 93-83.
