Pilot identified in Henry County plane crash

PARIS, Tenn. (AP) - An Ohio official has identified the victim of a Henry County plane crash as a Louisville, Kentucky, man.

The pilot was 42-year-old Abdulgadar Zbedah, according to a spokesman for the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority in northern Ohio.

The plane was a 1980 twin-engine Swearingen Metroliner flying from Dayton, Ohio, to Harlingen, Texas. It was carrying auto parts and Zdebah was the only person on board when the plane crashed about noon yesterday in some woods near Paris.

Spokesman Brian Schwartz of the port authority spoke on behalf of plane owners TriCoastal Air from Wilmington, Delaware. He said the pilot reported an emergency at 18,000 feet. Radar operators watched the place descend to 14,000 feet, the disappear from the scopes.

Witnesses say the plane went into a dive, pulled out momentarily, then went down.
