Cooper Tire is recalling tens of thousands of tires this afternoon.
The company says 288-thousand replacement tires used on passenger cars and light trucks need to be replaced because of concerns about air leaks and cracking.
The tires were made between February of 2004 and July of 2005.
There have been no reports of crashes or injuries.
Cooper will replace the tires for free.
The tires affected by the recall include the following:

Dean Mud Terrain Radial SXT
Durango Radial XTR
Mastercraft Courser C/T
Dick Cepek Radial F-C II
Pro Comp Xtreme A/T
Tempra Trailcutter Radial RT
Dean Alpha 365 A/S
Starfire Flite-line IV
Cooper Zeon 2XS
