Tigers Drop in A.P. Poll/Hold Steady with Coaches

It's a mixed bag in the National Polls for the Memphis Tigers Basketball team..

Two Blowout victories against Conference USA opponents were good enough to keep the Tigers ranked 3rd in the country in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.

The U of M won it's 2-games during the week over Southern Miss and Tulane by an average of 39.5 points.

Memphis, off to school record best start at 24-and-2, actually got 3-first place votes from the Coaches.

No such love from the Writers with the Associated Press.

The Tigers dropped from 3rd to 4th in the A.P. Poll

Villanova leapfrogs Memphis after beating previous number one Uconn, and winning over 17th ranked Georgetown.

Duke is back in the top spot, Nova second, the Huskies third, Memphis 4th, and Gonzaga 5th..

Tennessee falls to 11th in the Coaches Poll, after the Vols loss to Alabama..

UT is 10 in A.P. And 19-4 overall.

LSU is 24th according to the Coaches.
