A Memphis radio talk show gained national attention Thursday, after being added to a hate group watch list.
"The Political Cesspool" broadcasts out of a building in the middle of farm fields in Millington, at radio station WLRM. The radio program has gotten dubious national recognition from the watch dog group the Southern Poverty Law Center, who has called it a show that caters to guests who are members of hate groups.
James Edwards, the host of "The Political Cesspool," is ecstatic that his show will soon be listed on the SPLC's Hate Watch List, a group he calls a bunch of communists and civil rights hustlers.
"I don't think you've arrived in the conservative movement until you've made it to the Southern Poverty Law Center's Hate Watch," Edwards said.
A spokesperson from the SPLC told Action News 5 "The Political Cesspool" is comprised of white supremacists who preach hate. Edwards said his talk show is politically incorrect, and he talks about a lot of issues.
The owner of WLRM said the creators of "The Political Cesspool" pays $400 a month to broadcast the show, and he has never had any complaints.
