MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Fire investigators have not ruled out any potential causes for a fire that destroyed a 100-year-old Fayette County church.
Federal, state and local officers are investigating the Monday fire at Hickory Withe Community Church.
The church was not occupied by any congregation. Pentecostal Church of God Bishop Jerry Moore, the church's district overseer in Dover, Tennessee, said the church's last congregation vacated about three weeks ago, but another had expected to start worshipping there soon.
He said the church was insured, though there was no immediate estimate of the financial loss.
