MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Chris Webber picked up the slack for an injured Allen Iverson, scoring 31 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and adding nine assists today to lead the Philadelphia 76ers over the Memphis Grizzlies 94-91. The Sixers played the second half without Iverson, the league's second-leading scorer, who sprained his right ankle near the end of the first half and did not return.
Webber was 12-of-19 from the field and led five Sixers in double figures. Webber's 14-footer with 48 seconds left gave Philadelphia the lead for good, and the Sixers held on to snap a three-game losing streak. Pau Gasol's desperation shot from well beyond halfcourt for Memphis as time expired did not come close. Iverson had 18 points and six assists before leaving.
