Young boys arrested in arson

MILAN, Tenn. (AP) - Gibson County Sheriff's deputies have arrested two boys in connection with an arson fire that destroyed a church building Saturday.

Bob Pollard of the state fire marshal's Bomb and Arson Section says the 13- and 14-year-old boys were apprehended late Saturday night.

Pollard says both have confessed they set the fire to hide a burglary of the building that had housed the Deliverance Church of God in Christ near Milan on U-S 45 East.

The congregation was no longer meeting there. The pews had been removed and the church sign had been removed.

The boys are scheduled to appear for a detention hearing today.
